Gift A Meal Without Paying For It

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Oh yes you can. Hey everyone knows things are tight this year – that’s putting it mildly – way mild. One of the first things to go food wise is, dining out. But it really doesn’t have to be that way. Treat your loved ones a gift certificate to some of the leading restaurants. Everyday until Christmas, you can send anyone this gift certificate and it costs you nothing to do so. Menu Planning Is Smart

Coupons For Fresh Vegetables

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Since catching the bug, I’ve consistently saved 30% – 50% on my grocery bill. These are only for things we need on a regular basis. I’ve even got a nice stock pile of canned food, bath tissues, food, meats, frozen vegs, snacks you name it. Over here, we feed a big family. So even a 10% savings is a lot.

Now I know some of you are super gung ho couponers who scoff at my savings and tell me how you’ll never pay more then 50ยข or $0 for anything. I’ll reserve my thoughts and arguments for later.

I’ve had several starts and stops to meal planning but so far this is my 2nd week back on the wagon. So far so good. I think I’ve planned out a pretty yummy week in total, a nice mix of western and Asian style foods. Here’s what we’re having this week. Some of them the kiddos have never tried so I hope it’ll go well. I’ll also try to enter my recipes each day as well.

Monday – Easy Italian Stew

Tuesday – Slow Cooker Orange Chicken, Spicy Baked Shrimp and Rice

Wednesday – Chicken Parmesan Bundles

Recipe Book From School Still Good

Resipi HarianHey gang, look what I got! My Resipi Harian book! Resipi Harian means Daily Recipes in Malay. Boy this book brings back lots of memories. I was a Home Ec student – in those days in Malaysia they called it Home Science. Wonder if it’s changed. This book has been around for ages!

I still remember cooking in the huge kitchen in school. The kitchen was next to our Science class students (who do not take Home Ec) and boy they’d always come knocking for food after we were done :) . During our exams, we’d have to crazy mad dash – think Iron Chef for teens.
